about
Hailing from Nova Scotia, Brad Eddy is one of Canada's most successful young drivers and many observers believe he is on the verge of becoming Canada's Next Great Driver. In 2011 Brad won a coveted NASCAR Championship competing in the highly competitive NASCAR Whelan All American Series. At just 17 Brad is the only Canadian (of any age) to have ever won a United States based NASCAR Championship, truly an amazing accomplishment!Since the age of 8 Brad has caught the eye of the Canadian Media and has been featured in several newspapers, magazines and televised sport shows. He has a valuable sense of commitment to his advertising partners and understands the need for them to receive a return on their investment.Brad is a devoted Christian young man with a real servant heart for others. He is involved in youth ministry and is supported by a Christian family who believes that your relationship with Christ comes first, followed by family and friends and then career. Brad and his family have a strong sense of community and believe that what you do to positively affect others is one of the highest priority of life. From as early as six years old Brad's has expressed his dream of pursuing a career in Professional Motorsports. Now as a young teenager Brad is working hard in high school and hopes to persue a degree in Automotive Engineering in University. The future truly looks bright for this 16 year old!Brad began driving indoor go karts at the tender age of 5. It quickly became apparent that Brad had a natural driving ability. People would gather at the rail and watch in wonder at this 5 year old driving a 2.5 hp kiddy go cart was out there beating adults on much larger 5.5 hp karts. At 9 years old he was now legally allowed to race go karts in Canada and began in the novice class. I will never forget that first day we arrived at the karting track explains Brads Dad. It was 2004 and we pulled into the track with a 4 year old kart we had purchased in the back of our pick up. Officials asked if Brad had ever raced before and we explained he had only driven indoor rental karts. Track officials went on to explain to the Eddys that because he was a rookie he would have to start at the rear of all races for the first three weeks of the season and have a large X placed on the back of his helmet so that other drivers would be able to easily identify the rookie and steer clear of him. What happened next was an amazing sight! Although Eddy was placed at the rear of a very stout field of experienced drivers he battled through traffic and went on to win all of his races that day; two 2 heat races and the main 15 lap feature. That first year Brad went on to record several feature wins and was second in the Championship earning him the Rookie of the Year Title. In his second year of racing it was now time to run a full season of karting and put Brads talents to the test. He raced in 24 events and ended the year with 16 wins & an amazing 23 top fives and was rewarded by winning both the Mid Season and Year End Championships. In 2006 Brad moved to the new Bandolero class that had started at Scotia Speed World. This class was designed by NASCAR in an effort to get kids involved in racing at an early age. The Bandolero class was a natural progression for Brad who grew up watching his Dad, local super late model veteran Dan Eddy, race at dozens of race tracks across New England and Atlantic Canada. Brad quickly became the driver to be reckoned with in the Bandolero class winning the most features in its inaugural year.In 2007 as the Bandolero series moved into its second full year it quickly became one of the most popular classes for the local Friday night racing fans. A field of between 13 and 17 cars each week had the drivers doing fierce battles on track. Brad did not disappoint by again winning the most features and heats and continuing to hone his driving skills.Brad began the 2008 season by traveling to Florida for the Bandolero U.S. Winter Nationals and gained valuable experience that had a large impact on his performance that summer. When he returned home Brad again was the dominant driver in 2008 posting the most feature wins with 4 along with an incredible 10 heat race wins giving him a winning percentage of 58% of all races entered. Quite an accomplishment considering the local points system had top point drivers start at the rear of the field each week and work traffic trying to get to the front in a 12 lap feature. Brad was rewarded for his strong finishes in 08 by capturing the INEX Series Canadian National Driving Championship and received the opportunity to attend the INEX banquet in Charlotte. While there he got to race for three days on the road course race at Lowes Motor Speedway in a car prepared by racing greats Jeff and Kendall Sellers.2009 was another incredible season for Brad. He started out the season in this highly competitive division by winning the first three feature races of the season. Brad went on to win four features and several heat race wins and claimed the 2009 Scotia Speed World track Championship. It was time for Brad to again move up the racing ladder and into the much higher horsepower and much faster Legends car series. Brad took to this class like a champ and showed his talents immediately by winning his very first Canadian race and then went on to win 7 of 8 races ran in the young lions division in 2009.Brad went on to win 7 out of 8 races ran in 2009. Brad also raced in fields of over 25 cars competing with many drivers three times his age and with years of racing experience thus earning him respect of all his veteran competitors. he Big Move in 2010: This is the year when Brad will make the next big step in his progression towards his Drive to NASCAR. He will again be racing in various Legends car in events from Canada to the Southern United States. In addition he will also be making the move up to one of toughest divisions in all of racing, the Nascar Weekly racing Late Model (450 hp) Series competing at Tracks in the Southern United States. He will also race in selected Pro-Stock Series (550 hp) races in Canada. By season end Brad will have competed in over 30 races gaining him valuable experience needed to move to one of Nascar three top touring series in 2012 all of which all televised live across Canada the United States and abroad.Brad would like to personally thank the advertising partners that have gotten him to this point, 3M Canada, Lafarge Canada, King Freight Lines, Dartmouth Metals, without your support none of this would be possible.

April 4th 2011Amazing!Brad finished an impressive 2nd in his NASCAR Late Model Series racing debut at Tri-County Motor Speedway in North Carolina Friday night.Brad qualified in the 5th starting spot for the 100-lap feature and was fourth on lap 10. In a restart after the only caution in the race he got shuffled back to seventh, and then methodically worked his way to second by lap 40, setting his sights on leader and two-time track champion Dexter Canipe Jr., who eventually won the race. Local Trey Gibson was third.Tri-County Motor Speedway has become known as a feeder track for developmental drivers in the southeast, and Friday was no exception. Among the drivers Brad beat were three heavily funded NASCAR developmental drivers.Brad's father, Dan Eddy - also a racer, was with Brad Friday at Tri-County and is understandably proud of his son's success."As a driver I know how hard it is to accomplish what he did," said Dan. "As a father I can't describe how special it was to be there to hug him when he climbed out of the car."Funding is the key for Brad's short-term continued success; while the effort has mostly been backed by Brad's family to-date, they need to find corporate help in the near future to ensure Brad can race the entire season in the southeast, allowing him to both grow as a driver and gain him valuable exposure - both key elements in reaching his goal to become a professional NASCAR driver.Brad's next race is this Friday at Tri-County Motor Speedway.Feb. 28th 2011Brad had a great two days of testing at Hickory. First time in a NASCAR Late Model Stock Car with the bigger motor and he set fast time (track owner keeps times) out of all cars that have tested there this spring. He turned a 15.11 which was over a tenth faster than the UARA team that was also there. Great job for a driver who was out of the seat for 9 months! Brad is looking forward, with high expectations, to his first race, a 100 lap season opener at Tri County Speedway NC, on April 1st.February 17th / 2011Well summers almost here……… well at least in North Carolina.
